John and Yoko on Tim’s Twitter Listening Party
His favourite song is Appetite by Prefab Sprout: “An incredible song.” Tim Burgess has an appetite for all good music, though, and on the weekend of Saturday 24th April and Sunday 25th April (depending on your time zone) he will host an historic Tim’s Twitter Listening Party for John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band’s new Ultimate Remixes.
John Lennon and Plastic Ono Band – Plus Sir Paul?
Famous guests will include Ringo Starr, Klaus Voormann, Yoko Ono, Sean Ono Lennon and the words of George Harrison. A Twitter Spaces Aftershow will follow. No word on Sir Paul McCartney yet…
Not So Much Isolation
Isolation during our global pandemic has brought the world together on Twitter, thanks to Tim’s vision of global listening parties with live commentary from the bands and others involved. So, if you want to know more about Tittenhurst Park (above) or Yoko’s book Grapefruit, or her Polaroid Big Shot camera, or Two Virgins, or even John’s Mona Lisas, you’ll have to be there.
Take 29 of Isolation at Abbey Road
This is take 29 of Isolation (above) recorded at EMI Studio 3, Abbey Road, on 3rd October 1970, written by Lennon, with Ringo Starrr on drums and Klaus Voormann on bass. It was produced by John and Yoko with the late Phil Spector.
Sunday 25th April, 3.00am Melbourne
If you can’t make the John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band Twitter party on your time zone (3.00am in Melbourne on Sunday morning) then Tim Burgess has organised an archive of playbacks where you can listen again and watch the Twitter commentary as it unfolded.
There’s a new book coming out, too, in 2021. Sir Paul McCartney and Mary Beard are both fans of Tim’s online gatherings. See you there.
