To help support the music industry which is really suffering as a result of these mass cancellations Triple J are bringing their annual Ausmusic T-Shirt Day (usually held in November) forward to Friday April 17th, 2020.Which means that there will be Australian music playing all day on triple J, Double J and triple J unearthed. Plus you get to show off your fave Aus band t-shirt (along with whatever other items in your wardrobe you’ve been longing to get out of hibernation) with the hashtag #AusMusicTShirtDay. A great excuse to get out of your PJ’s!

Ausmusic T-Shirt Day is a great way for all Aussies to demonstrate our passion and loyalty for our super talented homegrown musicians. (Even though we openly admit the concept of Ausmusic T-Shirt Day was inspired by BBC’s ‘Wear Your Old Band T-Shirt To Work Day’ each year, ever since radio DJ Steve Lamacq which started up back in 2007 – thanks for sharing Steve!).

So go dig out your fave vintage Aus band t-shirt from your wardrobe or head on-line and order something from one of the up & coming acts while they are stuck at home plucking at their guitar strings instead of hitting the stage. Australia Post is still delivering so you should have it arrive it time for the 17th. Be sure to take a selfie, team with hashtag #AusMusicTShirtDay and post to Twitter, Insta or pretty much wherever you like!

Support Act has a super list of retailers for Australian Artists, may also be a good time to invest in a snuggly hoodie ready for the winter that’s around the corner!

Plus Triple J has put together a list of their Ten Favourite Band Tees From Artists on Unearthed .

Or you may like to go directly to your favourite artist’s official website – check out our list of Australian Music websites for some inspiration.

(Note: Triple J have a comprehensive list of which festivals/concerts went the postponed direction & which were unable to reschedule. It’s worth reviewing, as you may now be able to purchase tickets to a concert that was previously sold out or was being held on dates that didn’t work for you.)
